The artisanal Kamentsa mochila (bag) is entirely woven with golden and beige beads, using the traditional weaving technique on the guanga (loom). The timeless elegance of the Kamentsa Mochila makes it a true artisan masterpiece woven by the skilled craftswomen of the Kamëntsá people, originally from Putumayo, Colombia.

Crafted with meticulous golden and beige beads, this bag combines tradition, refinement, and ancestral culture into a unique and exclusive accessory. The side is embellished with a delicate orchid in light tones, a symbol of beauty and harmony, expertly embroidered with the same artisan technique. The base of the mochila is enriched with soft beaded fringes that add movement and a sophisticated touch to the design.

Perfect for completing elegant or casual looks, this bag is not only a stylish accessory but also a celebration of the Kamentsà cultural heritage. Each piece is unique and tells the story of a community that has passed down its art and worldview for generations. Choosing this mochila means supporting ethical trade, contributing to the preservation of an ancient artisan tradition.

CURE

Glass beads are small decorative elements made from molten glass, available in endless shapes, colors, and finishes. Used for making necklaces, bracelets, and other accessories, glass beads are physically robust but require care for the mounting thread—often silk, nylon, or cotton—which is the most vulnerable point of the accessory. Chemicals found in cosmetics and perfumes are the main enemies of glass luster.

Care and maintenance of glass beads

Cleaning

Lightly damp soft cloth. For deep cleaning: lukewarm water with a drop of neutral detergent, rinse, and dry thoroughly.

Drying

Carefully dry the joints: stagnant water weakens the thread over time, especially if it's silk or cotton.

Storage

Store separately to avoid scratching between beads. Glass surfaces can chip if bumped.

Treatment

Avoid perfumes, hairsprays, and creams: chemicals dull the beads and deteriorate the thread.

Inspection

Periodically check the integrity of the thread, especially at the knots. At the first sign of weakness, have it restrung.

⚠️ Caution: Wear the accessory only after applying perfumes and cosmetics, not before. Chemical residues accumulate on the beads and reduce their luster over time.

Additional instructions

Silk thread: If the thread is silk (as in Seta accessories), avoid any contact with water: wet silk weakens and deforms easily.

Bath and sport: Always remove accessories before swimming, playing sports, or entering a sauna.

Restringing: A thread in good condition is essential for the security of the accessory. Have the knots checked by a craftsman every 12–18 months.
