Wayuu Backpack (Medium) - Pyramid
Wayuu Mochila (shoulder bag) embellished with soft and delicate ruffles. Multicolored woven cord shoulder strap with metal hook. A functional and spacious statement piece that won't go unnoticed.
Geometry as art
This mochila is born from the hands of Wayuu artisans, an indigenous community from La Guajira in Colombia, custodians of a female textile tradition passed down through generations. On a brown base, the weaving creates a geometric pattern that, in its shapes and rhythm, somewhat recalls Mexican pyramids reinterpreted with Anni Albers' graphic sensibility: lines that alternate and intertwine in a hypnotic and refined composition.
Completing the body of the bag are soft and delicate ruffles, created entirely from weaving, that gracefully accompany and decorate the mochila, adding movement and a three-dimensional texture that makes every angle interesting to discover. The color combination is delightful: on the brown base, geometric shapes in red, acid green, yellow, and purple alternate, a vibrant and surprising mix that makes this mochila a true statement piece.
Details and functionality
The bag is carried over the shoulder thanks to a multicolored woven cord, delicate in appearance but resistant in structure, which attaches with a metal clasp. The front closure uses the same cord as the shoulder strap, embellished with two compact, brown woven balls that lend balance and coherence to the entire design.

What is a mochila?
A mochila is a traditional shoulder bag, entirely hand-woven by indigenous peoples of Latin America. Made with techniques passed down from generation to generation, each mochila is hand-woven using natural fibers, wool, cotton, or beads, and often decorated with designs and pictograms that tell stories, spiritual symbols, and the worldview of each community.
More than just an accessory, the mochila is an expression of cultural identity, an object that combines everyday functionality with artistic value, and carries with it the labor, time, and tradition of its creators.
Note: as this is a hand-woven piece, small variations in colors, weaving, or pompoms are part of the unique and authentic character of each mochila.
