Drop Earrings

Our handcrafted wood and werregue earrings are made by the Wounaan people, originally from the Colombian Pacific coast. Each pair is a unique work that intertwines tradition, craftsmanship, and excellent natural materials. The earrings are carved by skilled Wounaan artisans using precious local woods such as chonta, mareblanco, palo sangre, and amargo; each material gives a different shade of color, resistance, and natural character to the jewelry. Around the wooden structure traditionally carved by men, Wounaan women hand-weave thin threads of werregue, an ancestral palm from the Pacific, creating refined geometric and symbolic patterns. The thin threads of werregue fiber are dyed with natural pigments from the territory.
